BASECAMP
Our Basecamp site is an exciting extension to our charity. We worked with Wakefield Council to secure space in the old Thornes Park nursery. Later this year we'll take delivery of our re-used shipping container classroom which will use solar energy to power lights, electricity etc.Areas of the site will house a storage container, garage we will convert into a covered 'dirty' jobs area, wildlife garden and horticulture growing areas.
We’ll be recruiting volunteers to help us clear the site and plan / shape the garden areas. Please see our Volunteering page for more information. We want this space to be an asset for the local community and offer our charity a much-needed physical base to deliver more sessions, courses and events. Basecamp will be located Thornes Park Nursery, Thornes Road, Wakefield, WF2 8QE.
